NUYU BOOK

€35.00

Nuyu wants to turn the view towards the people I have met in Dakar.
The first time I came to Senegal was in 2013. I was invited and felt comfortable and welcomed straight away.
We travelled all across the country and had a good and intensive time. I soon discovered the peoples warmth and I arranged to come back to spend some time in Dakar.
The next time I came, I rambled through the city. Dakar received me lively. There is a jumble of places and districts which seem entangled and impenetrable. Dakar is an emerging place, well bound to traditions and rigidity at the same time. It is hot and dusty but then there is the Atlantic Ocean. The Ocean is as powerful as it can be. On the other side it calms everything down, damps the heat and the bustle of the city. All the pictures I took are a connection between documentary, narrative and personal impressions. I want to tell a story about friendship, personality, trust and hope. Dakar is an intense setting and created a profound atmosphere. It is my ambition to capture those moments which left an impression. I want to dedicate this book to everyone I have met on my travels. It was always wonderful and you enriched me.”
